Broadband and Mobile Deals: UK Bundle Discounts Explained

Broadband and mobile deals can cut the combined bill, but only EE One, Vodafone Together and Virgin Media O2 Volt currently provide substantial linked benefits from major UK brands.

The quick answer

Broadband and mobile deals can cut the combined bill, but only EE One, Vodafone Together and Virgin Media O2 Volt currently provide substantial linked benefits from major UK brands. EE One offers eligible mobile savings and data boosts, Vodafone Together discounts eligible additional plans, while Volt exchanges matching Virgin Media and O2 accounts for speed and data benefits. Compare the full cost with separate deals before joining.

Key Takeaways

  • EE Together has been replaced by EE One: eligible EE Broadband and Pay Monthly mobile services on the same account can receive unlimited data boosts and savings of up to £20 a month on new or upgraded mobile plans.
  • Vodafone Together applies discounts when a household combines eligible broadband and Pay Monthly mobile plans, but the size of the saving depends on which service is added.
  • Virgin Media O2 Volt mainly adds benefits rather than one universal cash discount, including a broadband speed boost and extra O2 mobile data for eligible matching-address accounts.
  • A bundle is worthwhile only when its whole-contract cost and service fit beat the best broadband and mobile plans bought separately for your address.

Broadband and mobile deals can cut the combined bill, but start by pricing both services separately. A linked deal is a saving only when the combined minimum-term cost is lower for services you would have chosen anyway. The three main UK schemes work differently: EE One discounts or boosts eligible mobile plans, Vodafone Together applies plan-specific savings, and Virgin Media O2 Volt adds speed, data and roaming benefits rather than one universal cash reduction. Compare the full cost with separate deals before joining.

Offers and eligibility were checked on 14 September 2026. Prices can vary by address, plan and customer status, so use the figures below as a current explanation of each scheme rather than a quote for your household.

Is a broadband and mobile bundle worth it?

A broadband and mobile bundle is worth it when both networks suit your address, the included mobile data fits your usage and the full combined cost beats the best separate options. Ofcom says buying services together is often cheaper, but also warns that bundles can be less flexible. Convenience and one account are useful, but they do not turn an expensive plan into good value. Some bundles add a streaming perk on top, such as limited-time Disney+ access on eligible mobile plans; check our best streaming services in the UK comparison before assuming a bundled app replaces a subscription you would otherwise pay for.

We would start with Vodafone Together for a household that already wants Vodafone broadband and several mobile plans, EE One where EE mobile coverage and unlimited data matter, and Volt where a Virgin Media speed boost or extra O2 data replaces something the household would otherwise buy. We would choose separate providers if a cheaper broadband network and a low-cost SIM save more after every scheduled rise.

EE Together discount: what replaced it?

The current scheme is EE One, not EE Together. EE says customers with eligible EE Broadband and EE Pay Monthly mobile on the same account can receive an unlimited-data boost on qualifying existing mobile plans and up to £20 a month off eligible new or upgraded mobile plans. Plans below the stated eligibility threshold and services such as Pay As You Go are excluded.

The relationship matters because the benefit is conditional. EE says cancelling broadband or mobile removes EE One eligibility, mobile savings and unlimited-data boosts. Its current short terms also state that some EE One mobile prices increase when broadband is cancelled. Read the individual contract summary for the actual replacement price before treating the discount as a permanent saving.

Vodafone broadband and mobile discount explained

Vodafone Together gives eligible customers discounts for holding two or more qualifying Pay Monthly mobile or home broadband plans. The live table checked for this guide showed savings up to £4 a month when broadband was added to an eligible mobile plan, with larger plan-specific savings on some added mobile services. Those figures are not one flat discount for every customer.

Vodafone's displayed examples use 24-month plans and show pounds-and-pence increases on future dates. Compare every scheduled monthly payment, not only the starting figure. Confirm that each chosen plan qualifies, whether another promotion can be combined with Together and what price applies when one linked service is cancelled or reaches its minimum-term end first.

Virgin Media O2 Volt benefits explained

Virgin Media O2 Volt links eligible Virgin Media broadband with O2 Pay Monthly mobile at the same address. Virgin Media says benefits are normally added automatically within 14 days once account addresses match. Eligible customers can receive an upgrade to the next available broadband speed tier and extra O2 mobile data, subject to the scheme's limits and available tiers.

Volt is not best described as a universal bill discount. Its value comes from benefits you would otherwise pay for, such as a faster broadband tier or more mobile data. If your current speed and allowance already cover normal use, count those upgrades as £0 in your comparison. The household may have separate Virgin Media and O2 contracts, bills and end dates even though the benefits are linked.

What about a BT broadband and mobile bundle?

BT Group now presents its main consumer broadband-and-mobile combination through EE One. A search for a BT broadband and mobile bundle can still surface older BT Mobile material, but current buyers should compare EE Broadband and EE Mobile terms rather than assume a historic BT discount still applies. BT and EE belong to the same group, yet the brand, account eligibility and contract named at checkout determine the benefit.

If you already have BT Broadband, ask for a written quote and check whether it requires moving broadband to EE or starting a separate EE mobile agreement. Compare that route against renewing BT broadband alone and buying a SIM separately. Do not rely on group ownership as proof that two independently held services will qualify for EE One.

Broadband and mobile bundle cost worksheet

The useful comparison is the first-year and whole-contract cost after benefits, not the biggest percentage shown in an advert. This two-horizon check is common on strong international comparison pages but was uncommon across the UK bundle guides reviewed for this page.

Fill in the bundle and separate-deal columns using written checkout prices for the same service period.

For example, do not subtract £10 for extra data if you normally use 8GB and both plans already include 20GB. Do subtract a £4 monthly cash discount that applies for all 24 months, but check whether scheduled price rises affect the underlying plan. Keep benefits and money separate so an unused perk cannot hide a higher bill.

Five checks before combining your contracts

  1. Check both networks: verify fixed broadband at the exact address and mobile coverage where each person uses the phone, including indoors.
  2. Align the dates: record the minimum-term end date for broadband, mobile airtime and any handset finance. They may not end together.
  3. Read the exit result: write down the price and benefit changes if either linked service is cancelled.
  4. Compare the same usage: use the broadband speed and mobile allowance you need, not a larger bundled tier simply because it is discounted.
  5. Keep the contract summaries: Ofcom says bundled services should receive a written contract summary of up to three pages showing charges, term and cancellation process.

Switching broadband and mobile without losing value

Broadband and mobile normally switch through separate regulated processes. For fixed broadband, order from the provider you are joining and it should coordinate One Touch Switch where applicable. To keep one mobile number, Ofcom says to text PAC to 65075 and give the code to the new network. A PAC is valid for 30 days.

Before starting either switch, ask what happens to the linked discount. Moving one service may remove benefits immediately while the other contract continues at a higher price. Our UK broadband switching guide explains One Touch Switch and exit charges, while the contract end rights guide covers end-of-contract notices and linked services. If the mobile line is digital, use our eSIM setup and number-transfer guide before deleting its existing profile.

Our verdict on broadband and mobile deals

There is no universal cheapest bundle. EE One is the strongest starting point for eligible households that value EE coverage and unlimited data, Vodafone Together deserves the first calculation for multiple Vodafone plans, and Volt can be valuable when its speed or data boost replaces a paid upgrade. In every case, choose the linked scheme only after its full minimum-term cost beats suitable separate deals.
